EXPERIENCE

February 2014 - Currently.  Freelance Photographer, Retoucher, IT Support, Brilliant Pixel Imaging LLC. Brilliant Pixel does digital image retouching for small and large clients, focusing on specific needs and requirements. I manage the back end of the website, aide in the design, manage data organization, deploy workstations for employees, and assist in business planning. http://www.brilliantpixelimaging.com/

April 2009­ - May 2017. Director of Operations, Valex Sourcing and Sales LLC, Columbus, OH.  I oversaw the operation of a 6 person team and advised on the purchasing of incoming product. 

July 2012 - Currently.  Designer for Uni-Liger and QuotestoLiveBy shop on Etsy.  I created this shop to design and sell t-shirts related to pop culture, movies, and books.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/QuotestoLiveBy

December 2009. Directed and edited the videography for Denison University’s dance performance, Affirmation. I operated one Canon XL2 and directed another cameraman for the shoot. Also edited, authored DVDs, and created cases for the finished product.

November 2009. Designed, created, and launched Trade In Your Tech website. The site’s function was to capitalize off used electronics and technology. The idea was to offer money or credit for people’s used gear. The incoming products are then offered for sale in the store portion of the site. For this whole set-up I used Joomla, which is a great site building system, with many different “modules” that are easily added and updated. Due to a competitive market in this space and my full-time job, this website has been shutdown.

April 2009. Assistant Cameraman for documentation of “Shared Ground”, a Denison University Department of Dance production. I operated a Canon XL­2 for three performances. Mark Sewards was the primary cameraman and director of the shoot.

February­ - June 2009. Freelance Image re­touching for Nationwide Insurance, Columbus, OH. Using Camera RAW and Bridge to maintain consistent color and exposure for hundreds of photographs. Photoshop CS3 used for retouching of models, backgrounds, and objects.

February 2009. Co­Editor of video shot at a Denison University sponsored Flamenco performance by Clara Ramona at the Midland Theatre, Newark, OH. Edited 3 hours of HD footage from multiple cameras using Final Cut Pro, the final product fitting on a DVD.

December 2008 – February 2009. Distance Learning curriculum developer of film and audio courses for Northern New Mexico College; funded by a Microsoft Partners in Learning Grant. Helped develop, shoot, edit, export, and web publish videos to be used for teaching students how to visualize, shoot, and edit their own movies.

January 2007 - ­June 2008. Slide Services for faculty and Graduate students. I documented 2D/3D work, as well as most of the graduating grad student thesis exhibitions. Digital and traditional formats. I also scanned 35mm slides into digital files for faculty and students. I have produced high­ quality work for professional and amateur artists that they use for websites, postcards, and general promotional materials.

September 2005­ - June 2008. Photography Equipment and Darkroom Ohio University. I helped manage student workers, gave out equipment, maintained darkroom and studio, as well as repaired and maintained a 20 inch Hope Color Processor.

January­ - April 2005. Internship at Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, PA. Set up a digital workstation for the museum to document objects. Documented four of Andy Warhol’s time capsules as well as all of their contents. The images were to be used for the museum’s electronic listing of artworks.

May - ­August 2004. Internship at Erie Maritime Museum Erie, PA. Sailed on U.S. Brig Niagara to document crew at work. Organized a catalog of images for museum to use for future publications as well as training examples for future sailors.

September 2003 – December 2004. Photography Lab Assistant, Edinboro University, Edinboro, PA. Distributed equipment to students, mixed chemicals for use, kept area clean and maintained.

June 2003 – August 2005. Baker’s Apprentice at Giant Eagle, Edinboro, PA. Baked and packed product for the day, decorated cakes, kept department clean, occasionally opened bakery on my own.

September 2005 - ­November 2006. Graduate Teaching Assistant, Ohio University, Athens, OH. Classes: Intro to Photography, B&W film developing, fiber printing, Color RA­4 printing, 4x5 Camera, Studio lighting.

October 2006. Taught a one day “How to Shoot Slides of Your Own Work” workshop to senior undergraduate painting students. I presented a simple way to document their work as well as helped them shoot digital and traditional slides of their work.
